In order to create building materials and structures made of compacted soil for use as housing for refugees, we are investigating more efficient material systems by quantitatively clarifying the effects of various factors that increase interparticle forces. Specifically, we have analyzed the particle size distribution, density, pH, color, chemical composition, mineral composition and other characteristics, as well as the physical properties, of three types of soil, and have organized the effects of soil type, water content, particle size distribution and mixing form on compressive strength, and have used a predictive formula to calculate tensile strength. Here, we have compared the effects of capillary force and cohesion caused by clay minerals with the results of compressive strength experiments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
