The study focuses on the fabrication of nanocomposites from acrylic urethane networks and uniformly sized silica nanospheres, demonstrating significant improvements in the micro-mechanical properties (hardness and modulus) and thermal stability compared to pure AUN. It reveals the effects of nanofiller incorporation on the characteristic curing mechanisms of thermosetting nanocomposites using isothermal IR curing monitoring and 2T2D correlation analysis. This approach indicates enhanced hydrogen bonding in AUN/SNS nanocomposites, suggesting surface silanol groups act as hydrogen bonding sites, potentially explaining the improved micro-mechanical properties and thermal stability.
